Abstract


A QUALITATIVE STUDY ON MOBBING FROM THE EXPERIENCES OF LECTURERS
Although it is the first time that mobbing has been described as a daunting behavior in human relations. By Dr. Heinemann; mobbing is also seen in the oldest cultures as violence within the group. In the business literature, mobbing is an ill-treatment that has been systematically applied to a person for a long time by supervisors or co-workers. In this study, the mobbing experienced by the academicians was searched. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the study designed as an action research. Through objective sampling mobbing has been discussed with known academics lived mobbing. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method after transcription. As a result it has seen interviewer described using the force as apressure, asking obey, swearing, looking for error, marginalizing and commiting unauthorized work as a mobbing manner. It has emerged persons are ambitious, vindictive, jealous, lack of family authority, and lack of managerial skills have mobbed at work. so it can be said that these elements are caused by mobbing. The feature that distinguishes this work from other mobbling related works is figured as action research. Therefore, what the academicians call mobbing, the causes of the mobbing behavior and the proposals for the solutions are investigated in depth.
