Abstract


BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 2000-2018 İN TURKEY GLASS CEİLİNG WİTH INVESTİGATİON OF RELATED CONCEPTS AND INTERPRETATİON
The glass ceiling is characterized as an invisible obstacles to women's rise to senior management positions in organizations. In the current period, it is the indication of the necessity of conducting research on the concept of glass ceiling because of women are more involved in working life and it is emerged the importance of this study in this context. In this study, document collection method which is a data collection technique is used for qualitative research. With this method, the studies conducted on glass ceiling in Turkish literature were evaluated from 2000 to 2018. A total of 65 articles were included in the study, which were directly or indirectly related to the concept of glass ceilings scanned at Ulakbim and Dergipark sites. No studies were conducted between 2000 and 2003. The collected data were evaluated by using the content analysis method and it was determined that the glass ceiling phenomenon existed in almost every sector. The studies general were carried out to determine the factors that cause glass roof barriers, to measure the glass ceiling perceptions of employees, to determine the relationship between the organizational cocepts and the glass ceiling concept and to determine the effect of the attitude between the female employees and male employees. The majority of the examined studies were conducted in the sectors where the female employees are concentrated. Accordingly, despite the fact that the majority of the employees are composed of women in terms of quality and quantity, the ratio of representation in senior management positions show that it is very low such as the members of the board of directors of the companies is very.It is noteworthy that the concept of glass ceiling is a little under investigation and this situation will be light for the researchers who want to do research about the concept.
