Tuhfe-i Arûziyye-i Sirvâniyye named that study is on Persian-Turkish poetic dictionary which was written by Ismet Sirvani in (1222/1807). No research has been done on this dictionary determined by us so far. Transcriptions were made because a copy of the manuscript is an old handwritten copy. Because the work is a bilingual (Persian-Turkish) dictionary, indexed for easy access to searched words. The work has been subjected to an examination within the framework of the poetic dictionary tradition and it has been seen that there are almost all the features of the classic poetic dictionaries. The work was arranged in a verse introduction, five quatrains, and a short epilog. The vocabulary part which consists of quatrains, is one of the main parts of the work. The quatrains in order to show poems at dictionary used in the meaning of part division. Poet gave information about aruz prosody in two couplets at the beginning of the quatrain. It was mentioned aruz prosody of the poem, advice, boasting of the poet with his poets and the beauty of her lover's beauty. This situation shows that poetic dictionaries are designed to provide vocabulary knowledge as well as vocabulary teaching. Approximately 360 Persian words were given in Turkish at the work which consists of 91 couplets. The features such as the composition of the work as a verse, selected words from a simple and everyday language, show that it was written to teach Persian to the Persian beginner children. Introducing the text for the first time with this article will contribute to new studies on poetic dictionaries.
